Optometrist
Rebecca is the principal optometrist at Bayside Eyecare and one of Melbourne’s most respected behavioural optometrists. After graduating from Melbourne University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Optometry, Rebecca gained experience at two of Melbourne’s top optometry practices before opening Bayside Eyecare in 1999.
Since completing her postgraduate qualification in Behavioural Optometry in 2001, Rebecca has become an active member of the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometry. Her professional interests include preventative vision care, assisting children with vision-related learning difficulties and slowing childhood myopia.
When not at Bayside, Rebecca loves to spend time perfecting her yoga poses and devouring a good book.
Optometrist
Ally is a passionate optometrist who takes pride in delivering personalised and holistic care to her patients. After graduating from Melbourne University in 2019 with a Doctor of Optometry degree, Ally practiced in South Gippsland, where she developed a keen interest in eye diseases and gained valuable experience in the management of eye emergencies.
Ally is interested in slowing myopia in children because she has a high myopia prescription herself, and she is incredibly passionate about helping children see better and achieve more.
Ally loves helping others. She has participated in an optometry volunteering program in Sri Lanka and looks forward to going on more trips in the future. Ally’s face may be familiar to many Bayside Eyecare clients. She used to work as a dispensing assistant whilst she was at university and she is thrilled to come back to the Bayside Eyecare team as an optometrist.
Optometrist
Audrey graduated from Melbourne University in 2018 with a Doctor of Optometry degree. Audrey has had an interesting and varied career to date having worked in both regional Victoria and metro Melbourne.
Audrey has also taught optometry students and consulted at the Australian College of Optometry (ACO) in Carlton. Whilst at the ACO Audrey was involved in the specialty contact lens clinic and she has a post graduate certificate in advanced contact lenses. Audrey is passionate about children’s vision and slowing myopia in children. She is dedicated to providing the highest level of eye care to her patients and enjoys working with kids. Audrey can consult in both English and Mandarin.
When not examining eyes, Audrey enjoys participating in yoga, cycling, swimming and bouldering.
Optical Dispenser
Shirley has worked as an Optical Dispenser since 1989. She enjoys the challenge of a tricky spectacle frame adjustment or repair and finds it very satisfying when the client’s glasses fit them comfortably.
Having lived overseas and travelled to many different countries, Shirley is always dreaming of her next exotic holiday destination.
Optical Dispenser
Renata trained and qualified in Canada as an Optical Dispenser and brings with her a wealth of experience to Bayside Eyecare.
Passionate about vision care and spectacles that fit well, Renata loves providing clients with spectacle lens options that complement their lifestyle .
While frame fitting is one of her favourite things, Renata is also passionate about travel, hiking, good food and coffee. But above all, Renata’s biggest love is her four-legged fur babies.
Optical Assistant/Receptionist
Liv is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Art History and Curating at Monash and is passionate about art, style, and design.
Liv has been at Bayside Eyecare since 2020 and is our social media coordinator, focusing on showcasing all that is new and exciting in the practice as well as keeping clients up to date with any practice news.
In her spare time, Liv enjoys reading, cooking, and making a good cup of tea.
Optical Dispenser
Susie has recently made the exciting decision to start a career in optical dispensing with us at Bayside Eyecare, having worked in banking for 20 years. Picking up a textbook for the first time since 1985, Susie is now undertaking a traineeship in optical dispensing. Susie has two children and a Labrador called Chase. In her spare time, Susie loves cooking, painting, and the occasional glam-fishing – this is when you hold a glass of champagne in one hand and a fishing pole in the other (why fish any other way!)
