Retinal Photography

Digital retinal photography is the latest technology, enabling the best possible view of the retina (at the back of the eye). This technology. enable us to pick up conditions like macula degeneration and diabetic eye diease. Retinal imaging enables a more detailed view of structures at the back of the eye that cannot be achieved by conventional methods. Images can be viewed instantly, enabling our optometrist to discuss the findings with you. This technology also allows us to more accurately monitor changes in eye health over time.

Retinal photography is currently not covered by Medicare. The small out of pocket fee is covered by some Private Health Funds.
