Rebecca Jamieson

Rebecca Jamieson

Optometrist

Rebecca is the principal optometrist at Bayside Eyecare and one of Melbourne’s most respected behavioural optometrists. After graduating from Melbourne University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Optometry, Rebecca gained experience at two of Melbourne’s top optometry practices before opening Bayside Eyecare in 1999. 

Since completing her postgraduate qualification in Behavioural Optometry in 2001, Rebecca has become an active member of the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometry. Her professional interests include preventative vision care, assisting children with vision-related learning difficulties and slowing childhood myopia.

When not at Bayside, Rebecca loves to spend time perfecting her yoga poses and devouring a good book.

    Ally Li

    Ally Li

    Optometrist

    Ally is a passionate optometrist dedicated to providing personalised, evidence-based eye care, with a special focus on behavioural optometry, myopia management and binocular vision dysfunction (BVD). After graduating from the University of Melbourne with a Doctor of Optometry in 2019, she gained valuable experience managing eye disease and ocular emergencies while practising in South Gippsland.

    She has completed postgraduate study in Behavioural Optometry and Advanced Contact Lenses, with a special interest in BVD, eye-related learning challenges, orthokeratology, specialty contact lenses, and myopia control in children. As someone who is highly myopic herself, helping children slow the progression of short-sightedness is a cause close to her heart.

    Ally is delighted to have returned to Bayside Eyecare as an Optometrist in 2021, where she first worked as a dispensing assistant during university. She still enjoys helping with the dispensing side of the practice from time to time and loves supporting patients throughout their entire eyecare journey. Known for her cheerful personality, she enjoys bringing positive energy to the practice and making every patient feel welcome. Ally consults in both English and Mandarin.

      Audrey Lee

      Audrey Lee

      Optometrist

      Audrey graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2018 with a Doctor of Optometry degree and has a special interest in behavioural optometry, paediatric vision and myopia control. She has worked across both regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne and has a broad range of clinical experience.

      Audrey previously worked as a clinical educator and consulting optometrist at the Australian College of Optometry, where she mentored optometry students and worked in specialty clinics including advanced contact lenses and glaucoma care. She holds a Certificate in Advanced Contact Lenses and is experienced in fitting specialty lenses, including Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) and Scleral lenses. Audrey has completed extensive postgraduate training through the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists and has a particular interest in vision therapy for children and adults, helping patients develop the visual skills they need for learning, sports, and everyday life.

      Being shortsighted (myopic) since childhood and an Ortho-K wearer herself, Audrey’s primary clinical passion is myopia control, with a strong focus on helping children manage myopia progression using evidence-based treatment approaches.

      Known for her friendly and calm demeanour, Audrey is committed to providing personalised, high-quality care for her patients. She consults in both English and Mandarin. When she is not consulting, Audrey enjoys teaching yoga and practices daily on her mat.

        Shirley Saksida

        Shirley Saksida

        Optical Dispenser

        Shirley has worked as an Optical Dispenser since 1989. She enjoys the challenge of a tricky spectacle frame adjustment or repair and finds it very satisfying when the client’s glasses fit them comfortably.

        Having lived overseas and travelled to many different countries, Shirley is always dreaming of her next exotic holiday destination.

          Optical Dispenser

          Renata trained and qualified in Canada as an Optical Dispenser and brings with her a wealth of experience to Bayside Eyecare.

          Passionate about vision care and spectacles that fit well, Renata loves providing clients with spectacle lens options that complement their lifestyle .

          While frame fitting is one of her favourite things, Renata is also passionate about travel, hiking, good food and coffee. But above all, Renata’s biggest love is her four-legged fur babies.

            Ella Putt

            Optical Assistant/Social Media Creator

            Ella is our optical assistant and social media creator. Ella is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Arts, with a focus of Philosophy and Sociology.

            She is passionate about sustainable practices in the field of optometry, and the relationship between neurodivergence and vision. In her spare time, Ella enjoys reading and listening to music.

              Optical Assistant

              Ollie is the newest member of the Bayside Eyecare team having joined us in late 2025. Ollie is currently studying business at Monash University. When Ollie is not at Bayside Eyecare or university, Ollie enjoys chasing the perfect surf break.
