Coronavirus update

We wanted to reassure you that we are following the recommendations from the Australian government, Optometry Australia and other health practitioner governing bodies closely to make sure we are looking after the welfare of our patients and staff.

When you attend Bayside Eyecare we encourage you to use hand sanitizer before trying on frames or filling out forms. If possible, we recommend you to use contactless payment for goods- payWave or apple pay rather than cash. Our eftpos key pad is being cleaned regularly with alcohol based cleaner as an additional measure

We plan to keep eye examination waiting time to a minimum but please note we will not have magazines, toys or colouring books available so BYO entertainment. We care about your health and want to minimise the risk of spreading the virus.

Hand washing and cleaning of clinical equipment with alcohol have always been part of our practitioners’ exam protocol and will remain so.

If you are running low on contact lenses and require more we are happy to ship them directly to you to save you a visit into the practice

When attending for an eye examination you must reschedule if you

• have any cold or flu symptoms- sore throat, cough, difficulty breathing or temperature
• have been overseas in the last two weeks
• have been in close contact with a person who has either of the above

To minimize risk we suggest you attend for your eye examination alone where possible or with minimal family members if accompanying children to an eye exam

Together we can do our bit to slow down the spread of Covid-19

Hope you stay safe and healthy!

The Bayside Eyecare team
